When it comes to your foundational health it is important to understand the difference between detoxification through the liver and kidneys and cleansing through the digestive tract. Especially if you are a pregnant woman or a breastfeeding mama. These processes are often confused, but they are distinctly different. In this episode, we are going to dive into the key differences, with a focus on how the Women's and Children's Gut Rebalance Kits support digestive tract cleansing, allowing the elimination of bad bacteria, yeast, mold, and parasites through your urine and poop.

Detoxing is a natural, continuous process that occurs primarily in your liver and kidneys. These vital organs work tirelessly to neutralize and eliminate toxins and waste products from the bloodstream. To emphasize this - your liver and kidneys are always detoxing. They are always working for your body. Maybe not optimally but this is their role in your body.

And actually, tt is helpful to have a clear picture of what your liver and kidneys actually do to fully understand the difference between detoxing and cleansing.

When harmful substances enter your body, the liver steps in to metabolize them. This metabolic process involves transforming these toxins into less harmful, water-soluble compounds.

Your liver constantly filters your blood to identify and intercept potentially dangerous compounds. It acts as a gatekeeper, preventing harmful substances from circulating throughout your body.

The liver then packages transformed toxins into a form that can be eliminated by the kidneys. These substances are then excreted through your urine, completing the detoxification process.

Kidneys filter toxins, excess salts, and waste products from the bloodstream, excreting them as urine.

Detoxification herbs and supplements work by releasing built up toxins in the body. When these stored toxins are mobilized, they are released into the bloodstream.

Once in the bloodstream, the toxins are processed by the liver, where they are transformed into less harmful compounds. These are then excreted through the kidneys and ultimately eliminated from the body through urine.

Now moving into Cleansing.

Rather than targeting your body's filtration organs, cleansing focuses on the digestive tract, particularly the colon and gastrointestinal system. Cleansing aims to remove accumulated waste, parasites, bad bacteria, yeast, and mold from the intestines, promoting digestive health and overall well-being.

My Women's and Children's Rebalance Kits are designed to support the cleansing process within the digestive tract. These kits are not intended to replace or replicate the liver and kidney detoxification processes but instead work in harmony with the body's natural mechanisms.

This really helps explain why my naturopath recommended I rebalance my gut while pregnant and breastfeeding and why my midwife was all about it. This is why many women find my Women's and Children's Rebalance Kits suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Because these kits focus on cleansing through the digestive tract rather than promoting detoxification through the liver and kidneys.

Now at the end of the day, my mission with this podcast and everything I put out there is to empower you. To teach you so you are educated on the significance of gut health and have the confidence to make your own best health decisions.

And one last thing - If you have just a second could you please review this podcast. It really helps other listeners find the show and all women and mamas deserve the opportunity to learn about gut health in very digestible and relatable terms.
