Welcome to episode 49; How Your Gut Health Affects Your Sex Life

Really quick before we get into today's episode I have to share with you that I have officially changed my name. I am now going by Juniper and am in the process of updating everything from Sarah so I just wanted to share it here to help with any confusion.

Okay! Did you know that your gut health can have an impact on your sex life? Or have you ever even paused to consider this?

The idea of this episode came from my dear husband, Ty. Last week my daughter and I slipped away on a little vacation and if I am being really honest I have had the hardest time being fully back in it with my boys and finding inspiration. Ill get there with a little slowing down and taking personal time in nature but during times like this I lean on Ty. I asked if he had any ideas for me and he said “well! Yeah!” As if it were so obvious and I should know what he was thinking. “You really should tell the world how enhanced how sex life is the last few years since we started really nurturing our gut health!”

I don’t think he thought I would really do it. But you know, Juniper here? I am not shy to talk about anything and I really loved his idea. Our sex life was dead not long ago. It is an absolute miracle that we have four children. Quite honestly - we don’t really understand it.

Anyway, we surely didn’t anticipate that tuning into our gut health and really nurturing our bodies from the inside would make such a difference but it has changed every part of us as individuals, as a couple and as a family. Because when you feel good in your own body you learn how to deeply love yourself. That self-love spreads to those around you and it's pretty magic.

So how exactly does gut health impact sex? Let's take a closer look.

Your gut health plays a crucial role in many aspects of your health and wellbeing, including your personal happiness, clarity, energy, vitality, and even your capacity for compassion. And these factors can all have a significant impact on your sex life, both in terms of your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Personal happiness: Your gut health has a direct impact on your mood and emotional wellbeing. When your gut is healthy, your body is better able to produce and regulate neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which play a crucial role in regulating mood and promoting feelings of happiness and pleasure. Conversely, when your gut health is compromised, you may experience mood swings, anxiety, depression, and other emotional imbalances that can make it harder to feel happy and content.

Clarity: The health of your gut is also closely linked to cognitive function and mental clarity. When your gut is functioning optimally, it can help regulate inflammation and prevent the buildup of toxins in the body, which can contribute to brain fog, memory loss, and other cognitive issues. By contrast, when your gut health is compromised, you may experience difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, and other mental health challenges that can make it harder to focus on your partner and enjoy the moment.

Part of the clarity that comes with a healthy and balanced gut is you are able to get really in tune with your menstrual cycle and all of the four phases. Your body emits different hormones and smells during each phase and your partner is able to subconsciously smell when you are say, ovulating and your smell alone triggers a surge of testosterone. Your bodies natural rhythm turns your into a magnet.

If your partner is on board for nurturing their own gut health and balance the two of you will be absolutely amazed with the new clarity both of you gain with your own bodies and with each others. You will become very in tune with each others needs and desires and will have an unspoken language that only the two of you understand.

Energy and vitality: Your gut health is also closely tied to your overall energy levels and vitality. When your gut is functioning properly, it can help your body absorb the nutrients it needs to fuel physical activity and maintain stamina. Conversely, when your gut health is compromised, you may experience fatigue, low energy, and other physical symptoms that can make it harder to enjoy sex and feel fully engaged in the experience.

Compassion: Finally, your gut health can also impact your capacity for compassion and empathy. Studies have shown that the gut microbiome plays a crucial role in regulating the immune system and reducing inflammation in the body. When your gut is healthy, it can help promote feelings of wellbeing and reduce stress, which can in turn make it easier to feel compassion for others and connect on a deeper level. By contrast, when your gut health is compromised, you may be more prone to stress and inflammation, which can make it harder to be present and empathetic with your partner.

By prioritizing your gut health you can help promote feelings of happiness, clarity, energy, vitality, and compassion, all of which can contribute to a more fulfilling and satisfying sex life.

The last thing I have to share with you is that Balance CBD makes the world's best intimacy oil and it tastes amazing. Plus, it is very nurturing to your bodies microbiome whereas chemical based lubricants are very damaging to the fragile gut bacteria. I was about to say it is a pricey indulgence but after doing the math I realized it's really not. Assuming you use ¼ of a dropper - it’s $1.05 cents. But makes for a million dollar experience. Really!
